Common (Saponaria officinalis) - H: 2ft, W: 1-2ft, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 3-9, Description: Single stemmed plants with lance shaped leaves and bright to pale pink flowers. Uses: Leaves and roots can be boiled to obtain soap. Note: Native to western Asia but naturalized in North America. Plants can tolerate poor quality soil.
Rock or Trailing (Saponaria ocymoides) - H: 6 to 9 inches, W: 1-2 ft, Sun: Full, Zone: 2-9, Description: Low growing plants with small green leaves and pink flowers. Uses: Can serve as a pollinator species. Note: Native to Europe and a perennial.
