We carry the following varieties of serviceberries (Amelanchier spp.) in 1 gal pots:
Jennybelle (Amelanchier ovalis) – H: 15-25ft, W: 15-25ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Delicious dark berries that ripen in June.Note: Selected by Jack Rice of North Carolina who named it after his daughter. This variety is of the ovalis species which is native to Europe, Northern Africa, and Middle East. Trees are also self-fertile. Zone: 5-8.
Smokey (Amelanchier alnifolia) - H: 8-10ft, W: 3-10ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Dark purple berries with a flavor that is like blueberry mixed with strawberries. Fruit ripens in June and is good for baking, eating fresh, and preserves. Note: Self-fertile. Also, these trees are of the alnifolia species which is native to North America. Zone: 3-6.
Success (Amelanchier alnifolia) -H: 6 ft, W: 4ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Dark purple berries with a sweet pear/juicy apple flavor that ripen in June. Note: Plants are self -fertile. Zone: 3-7.
